Dreams, Visions and Independence

I really have strange and scary dreams.  Last night I dreamed that I was diagnosed with lung cancer.  Then I woke up and was glad that it was only a dream. I used to have dreams about being in a large city that is surrounded by lots and lots of water.  Driving down the freeways is difficult because of the walls of water all around you.  It is almost as if you are in a large tunnel and you are driving under water.  I also used to dream about being in a building of some sort and being naked.  No one around me seemed to notice or care but I was frantic in my dreams going from room to room hoping to not be seen and wondering why I did not have any clothes on.  One of my friends told me that this is a sign of insecurity or of being afraid of something in my life.

Back in May I wrote a post about Bandit, our new puppy.  Bandit grew up fast and so did his personality and destructive behavior.  He got to the point that he was more than Katy could handle at the house when I am at work.  He refused to go outside and do his business.  He came very close to damaging our carpet so we hired a carpet cleaner to come clean the carpets.  We hated to do it but Bandit now lives with friends of ours that have a large house, 3 other dogs and a huge fenced in back yard.  Bandit is now named Bo, so we call him Bo the Bandit.  We were told that we have visiting rights and Michael sends me small videos of Bo the Bandit playing around in the back yard.  I have several videos of Bo the Bandit playing in a kiddie pool full of water.  We are so thankful he has a good home and other doggie friends to play with.

We just celebrated Independence Day on July 4th this last weekend.  It was kind of strange because very few people on social media acknowledged that we were supposed to be celebrating our independence from England.  Instead folks were celebrating and honoring our war veterans.  While I am honored and thankful for our veterans of foreign wars this is not the holiday we just had.  Well, you know the story.  Our forefathers decided that they were not going to sit idly by why a tyrannical government had their way with us.  They were tired of having their freedoms stripped from them.  They were tired of the enemy running through their neighborhoods and invading their homes, eating their food and having their way with their wives and daughters.  Our forefathers said enough is enough and they fought for our independence and paid a huge price for doing so.  Our forefathers spilled their own blood and gave their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we have today.

Just in case you have forgotten about the Declaration of Independence I challenge you to click on the link and read it in its entirety.  It is a very important part of our nations history and there are precepts in that document that we would be well to pay attention to.  Here is the beginning of the preamble.

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of …”

As I read this document I am aware of the fact that our existing government has been slowly but surely robbing Americans of their freedoms.  As a matter of fact our government has been convincing us that we should be happy to lose our freedom in exchange for security.  Despite of this, I still believe that we live in one of the best countries in the world.  Unfortunately , unless we the people do something quickly, our remaining freedoms will only be read about in the history books.  Are we willing to stand up and be counted and say enough is enough.  Are we willing to sacrifice our lives in order to take back our country and remove the tyrannical leaders in our government? When are we going to draw a line in the sand and do whatever it takes to reclaim our great nation?  Are you a patriot?

Instead of allowing social media and liberal news media to brain wash us with their anti american mantra we should use social media to sound the alarm so that other Americans can hear and be educated about what is going on all around us.  I am not talking about conspiracy theories.  I am talking about the things that are going on at the local, state and federal government.  Educate yourself about your representatives in Washington and see if they are representing you and the people like they are supposed to be.  Are our representatives passing laws that will have the best interest of the people or are they passing laws that only benefit the elite among us?

Time to wake up America.  Time to start making some long lasting changes.  Draining the swamp means that we need to get the rhinos and greedy power mongers out of congress.  We need to implement term limits.  We need to do a lot of things but without the people getting involved it will never happen.  Our leaders want us to be ignorant and lethargic and unable to defend ourselves.  It is up to us to change that.  Are you with me?

Singing birds

I may be dating myself but the song “Love is in the air”  comes to mind as I sit here listening to the birds singing away outside.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous today and they are forecasting more of the same for Saturday and Sunday.  We had some thunderstorms race up the coast and dumped some much needed rain which in turn washed away a lot of the pollen that has been driving some of us into endless sneezing fits and swollen noses.  I have been very fortunate in that the pollen count has not affected me too much this time around.

I loved the weather today but I do not love the flying teeth (gnats) that are here in the lowcountry.  We traveled over to the Johns Island Pizza this afternoon for an early supper and splurged and got one of their meat lovers carnivore pizzas and a bottle of coke.  That was enough pizza for all four of us to have two pieces and a drink.  We came home and then decided that we would take the puppies out in the front yard and play with them and sit and enjoy the weather and quiet neighborhood.  The puppies are two weeks old and just as cute as they can be.  I am plotting on getting rid of them in another 3 to 4 weeks when they are ready to eat solid food.  If you know someone that wants some CUTE Lab puppies let me know and we can hook them up.

Today we sent Willie, our 14 month old Lab to live with his new owner.  I put an ad out on Craigslist and it took me about a week but I finally found someone that really wanted him and I felt would take care of him.  I was surprised that Willie did not bark at Michael when he came over but they took to one another as if it was meant to be.  I believe that Willie is in very good hands.  We will miss Willie because he was a very good dog with a wonderful temperament.  What I wont miss is Willie’s energy levels and how he always seemed to whip the other two dogs into a frenzy whenever he wanted to.  Willie also loves to chew on window screens and jump through them at any opportunity.  Willie sort of reminded me of the movie “Marlie and Me”.  If you saw that movie then that dog is just like how Willie is.

Spring semester is wrapping up in the next month and it could not be soon enough. I am doing fairly good on most of my grades so hopefully my GPA did not slip too much.  I only took three classes this semester compared to four but I think I was able to keep up with things a little better.  Working a full time job and going to school full time is not for the faint hearted.  I am looking forward to having some mental time off this summer but I know that August and the Fall semester will be upon me before I know it.

We are planning on moving to West Ashley sometime in the month of June and we are looking forward to it.  Thanks to the economy our landlord is being forced to sell the home we are living in here on Johns Island.  The sale will be a short sale for anyone that is interested and he is selling it under market value.  We live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with a great room with vaulted ceiling , fire place , one car garage and large fenced back yard.  This would be great for a couple looking to settle down in an awesome neighborhood.  I realize that my description of the house sounded like a advertisement but I want to make sure that everyone knows the house we are in is for sale.  We have an awesome landlord and I am praying that he can sell it and get out from underneath the added financial burden that this has become.

Once our move to West Ashley is complete we are plotting an escape back to Texas for a week or longer in order to take a break and visit friends and family that live in Seguin, Houston, Corpus Christi, Wharton and the Dallas Ft Worth area. It will be good to get away from work and be able to relax a little bit and see all the folks again.  It has been six years since we have been back home and that is entirely too long to be away from family.
