At long last this blogging challenge is OVER. In some ways I have enjoyed this challenge because it forced me to focus on a topic and to write about it. It forced me to be more consistent with my writing and has helped me to practice writing more. I am not sure it has made me a better writer but apparently it has given some folks an insight into my world. I had several folks on FaceBook who thanked me for doing it. Several of my cousins in Texas are following it I guess.
So, why do I blog? Needless to say, I love to write. A pastor friend of mine told me that when I blogged about the death of our daughter Jessica, and how it affected our family, that it was very therapeutic. I guess one of the reasons I blog is for the therapy. It allows me a channel of self expression to the world. It allows me to put my thoughts and feelings into written words so I can examine them and make sense of them.
I love to write about our family and our faith in Christ. I love to write about computer technology. I love to write about guns and ammo. I love to write about our current political climate and how it is threatening our 2nd amendment rights. I love to write about the importance of self defense planning and family defense planning. I love to write about our local meetups where we to target shooting and then go out to eat afterwards.
I love to write about things I am passionate about. I want to try and write more fiction pieces at some point. Just recently one of my friends said that he was to look at a picture of something and then start writing about it. So, I will try to do more of that and see where that leads me, if anywhere.
