How to prepare your digital life for death

Guess what? We do not get out of this rat race alive….. eventually these vessels we live in will stop to function and exist. Our loved ones will need to be able to access our digital foot prints so they can memorialize us and shut things down. They also need to access important information such as our user names and passwords on the many digital corridors we are on. I know, creepy but necessary. While you are at it set up your living will or update it if you have not visited that document in some time.

PCMAG wrote an article that will help you to get this done. You should also make sure that your significant other has legacy access to your password manager in case of your death. They will need to be able to access all of your digital accounts so they can either shut them down or to gain access to important information.

Do you have a living will? If not, you really should get that done as well. Your living will makes determinations of what you want done when you exit this earth. Do not leave the burden of making all of these decisions on your loved ones. You may have a living will but you may not have reviewed it or updated it lately. You need to review it in case you need to make some important changes.

Encourage your friends and family to do the same by sharing this blog post with them. They will be happy you did.
